Description: Grown for its striking, architectural shape, this slender tree from New Zealand produces stout, upright stems which are crowned by a palm-like cluster of strap-shaped leaves. Small, scented, white flowers are produced from the crown in spring. Thrives in moist, well-drained soil in a sunny to partly shaded postion. Tolerates drought when established. While eventally attaining 10m high after many years, annual pruning can restrict its height to 3m.
Planting Conditions: Full sun; part shade; prune well
