Dianella caerulea - Little Jess
Description: A compact, clumping ornamental plant similar in habit to a dwarf, non-invasive bamboo. Glossy, green foliage to approximately 40cm, with elevate bluish-purple flowers in Spring, followed by attractive purple berries.
Uses include mass planting, Japanese style gardens, accent planting, foliage, or grassy gardens. Ideal for low water requirement gardens.
Little Jess tolerates a wide range of soils and climatic conditions. It is suited to full sun as well as partially shaded positions. Excellent frost and drought tolerance make it an exceptionally hardy plant.
Plant in a well-mulched garden. Fertilise with slow release fertilizer once a year in spring. Trim if required every 5-7 years to remove older leaves.
Planting Conditions: Full sun / shaded position; frost tolerant.
Watering Conditions: Tolerates dryness; do not over water.
