Landscape value: A long flowering, mildew resistant large shrub to small tree tolerant of a wide range of site conditions. This cultivar is excellent for small parks and gardens or for use in containers.

Growth rate: Slow to moderate.
Habit: Compact and globose. Multi-stemmed.
Foliage: Dark green turning bright reddish-maroon in autumn. New growth bronzy.
Flowers: Numerous bright fuchsia-pink to reddish coloured flowers borne in panicles to 20 cm long and 17 cm wide in mid-summer to early autumn. Flowers for up to 75 days in warmer areas. The removal of spent inflorescences during autumn or winter can promote greater flower production the following summer.
Bark: Cinnamon coloured bark, exfoliating (after about three years) to reveal a lighter, creamy tone underbark.
Tolerances: Adaptable to a range of conditions, best in moist, well drained, slightly acidic soils in a position receiving full sun. Good to moderate drought and heat tolerance. Resistant to powdery mildew. Transplants easily.
