Description of plant at maturity:
A highly variable species with many varieties differing in habit and flower colour. From mid winter to late spring this shrub produces a profusion of tubular flowers. The red form produces stunning red tubular flowers, which are swollen at the base and open with flared petals.

Ideal for dry, hot spots in the garden, useful for shrubberies. Plant in full sun to maximise flowering potential.

Prune after flowering to maintain compact growth. Best grown in well drained soil in a sunny position. Prefers heavier soils, but will grow in sandy soils. Tolerates frost and extended dry periods.
