Perlite is a porous, silicous material produced by rapidly heating a natural volcanic material. It is sterile immediately after production and supplies no nutrients. It is an ideal medium for hydroponic culture and improves aeration of potting mixes or growing media.

Does not compact thereby providing good aeration and drainage, ideal for long lasting plants
