Description of plant at maturity:
An unusual palm-like plant with a crown of pendulous, strap like leaves atop a central stem that has an unusual swelling at the base. A good container plant for a warm, well-lit, position indoors; as well as on balconies, around pools and courtyards in warmer areas. Often grown as a street tree in tropical climates. Thrives in well-drained soil and grows best if given liquid plant food or slow release fertiliser. Keep moist in the growing season and drier in the winter.
