Cercis canadensis ''Merlot'' Enchanted Forest Pansy

Description of plant at maturity:
A new introduction, Cercis ''Merlot'' is a great small garden tree with rich purple foliage and improved branch structure.

Large heart shaped, very glossy foliage is rich purple to plum in colour. Will withstand heat in summer.

Bright lavender-pink showy ''pea'' type flowers are produced in spring.

Highly adaptable and tolerant of hotter and drier environments than many other Cercis forms. Will hold it''s foliage colour longer in the height of summer - foliage may green off in later summer months before autumn colour. Colour will be at its best in full sun.
