Description of plant at maturity:
An evergreen, rounded shrub or small tree with glossy green, oval leaves. Richly fragrant, brownish-purple flowers are borne in spring and summer.

The rich fragrance of the flowers makes this shrub a useful addition to any shrubbery. Site plants where the perfume can be enjoyed.

Thrives in a sunny to partly shaded position in moist, well drained, humus rich soil. Protect from frost. Pruning will produce new flowering growth. Water well in summer.
