Sophora japonica Pendula

Description of plant at maturity:
A small to medium ornamental tree with a beautiful weeping habit. Branches hang down in early years, spreading out with age and twisting, to form a picturesque crown. Deep green leaves are made up of numerous pairs of oval leaflets, giving the tree a feathery look.

Leaves turn yellow in autumn. A good urban tree, able to withstand pollutants and city conditions. This weeping cultuvar very rarely flowers.

Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Water in well and keep moist until tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears, provide a firm stake to support. During dormancy, prune to an outward pointing bud.
